Providing the means and the momentum to transform one's life beyond the  measure of circumstances
The prison population in the United States is exploding.  Prisons are overcrowded and new ones are being built to accommodate an ever increasing prison population. The Self Mastery Institute (SMI) has created a program that focuses on helping inmates effectively deal with their incarceration and prepare them for a productive life upon release into the general population.  The SMI prison program has been effective in providing the tools needed to effectively deal with every day prison life while providing them the desire and skill to cope with the challenges of everyday life once released.  The program is comprised of a curriculum that is delivered in a workshop format within the prison.  We specifically design workbook material and teaching methodology to meet the needs for the youth, women and men inmate student.

Comments from jail and prison officials have been highly encouraging and point to the following successes being achieved.

Inmates have an inner peace not known before
Ethnic boundaries and rivalries have decreased
An understanding of others has improved
Hope has been restored
Spirituality has increased
Self improvement has become a priority
